Your logo is the small image that helps people recognize your brand on Google. It is different from your cover photo, which is the big photo at the top.
What you'll need
Your logo as a JPG or PNG file, between 10 KB and 5 MB
Ideally square, 720 by 720 pixels (at least 250 by 250)
A verified Business Profile
The Google Account that manages your profile (owner or manager)
Logo vs cover photo: what is the difference?
Logo: your brand mark. Google says it helps customers recognize you.
Cover photo: a real photo that best represents your business. Google may not always show it first.
How to add or change your logo (computer)
Sign in to the Google Account that manages your profile.
Open Google Search or Google Maps and search for your business name and city.
On your profile, click Photos.
Click Add a logo. If you already have one, click Change logo.
Select your logo file and confirm.
In the Google Maps app (Android, iPhone, or iPad):
Open the Google Maps app and tap Business at the bottom right.
Tap More, then Logo.
Select your logo file.
Tap Post (Android) or Publish (iPhone and iPad).
If you already have a logo, these same steps replace it.
Get the file right first
Tips that help a logo look clean when Google shrinks it:
Use a square version of your logo with some space around the edges.
Use a simple version with no tiny text. It shows small on phones.
Use a solid background color, not a busy photo.
What if my logo does not show?
Google says your logo may not appear until your profile has all of these filled in:
Business name
A valid location with a street address
Categories
Phone number
Opening hours
After you upload, the logo may say Pending while Google reviews it. Google says photos can take 24 to 48 hours to show. If it says Not approved, it was flagged under Google's content policy. Try a cleaner file.
Common mistakes
Uploading the logo as a regular photo. Use Add a logo so Google knows what it is.
Using a wide banner logo. It gets cropped. Make a square version.
Adding a phone number or sale text to the logo image. Keep it to your brand mark.
Uploading before you verify. Google says photos only show after verification.

Google changes Business Profile screens often. We checked these steps in October 2026. If a button looks different, the Google help pages below have the latest.
Questions people ask
Why is my logo not showing?
Google says the logo may not appear until your profile has a name, a valid location with a street address, categories, a phone number, and opening hours. New uploads can also take 24 to 48 hours to show.
What size should my logo be?
Google's photo guidelines say JPG or PNG, 10 KB to 5 MB, 720 by 720 pixels recommended and at least 250 by 250 pixels. A square file works best for that size.
Can a manager change the logo, or only the owner?
Both. Google's role chart says owners and managers can add, delete, and edit logos.
We will look at the site you already have and email what to fix first.
