Attributes are the small details on your profile, like "Wi-Fi" or "Wheelchair-accessible entrance." Google says adding them can help you show up when people search for places with those features.

What you'll need

  • A list of what your place really offers (Wi-Fi, parking, payment types)

  • Honest answers about accessibility (measure your doorways if unsure)

  • The Google Account that manages your profile

Which attributes can I set?

Comparison: attributes you can set are factual, like Wi-Fi, payments, wheelchair access, and owner identity; attributes customers shape are opinions like popular with locals that you cannot edit. Two kinds of attributes. Diagram: Sac Business Launch.

The list you see depends on your category and country.

How to add or change attributes

  1. Open your profile. On a computer, search Google for my business. In the Google Maps app, tap Business at the bottom right.

  2. Select Edit profile, then More.

  3. Next to a group, like "Amenities" or "Payments," select Edit.

  4. Next to each attribute, choose Yes or No.

  5. Select Save.

Getting accessibility attributes right

Google gives clear rules for these. Customers with disabilities rely on them, so check before you click Yes.

AttributeWheelchair-accessible entrance

Choose Yes whenThe entrance is about 3 feet (1 meter) wide with no steps, or has a ramp. Revolving doors only = No.

AttributeWheelchair-accessible restroom

Choose Yes whenThe restroom entrance (and any stall needed) is at least 1 meter wide with no steps.

AttributeWheelchair-accessible seating

Choose Yes whenThe main area has no steps and room for a wheelchair to reach and sit at a table. High standing tables = No.

AttributeWheelchair-accessible parking

Choose Yes whenYou have a parking spot reserved for people with accessibility needs.

AttributeWheelchair-accessible elevator

Choose Yes whenYou have multiple floors and an elevator big enough for a wheelchair.

AttributeAssisted listening devices

Choose Yes whenYou lend hearing devices to customers at your location.

Owner identity attributes

You can choose one or more of these, and turn them on or off anytime:

  • Asian-owned, Black-owned, Latino-owned, LGBTQ+ owned, Disabled-owned, Indigenous-owned, Veteran-owned, Women-owned

  • Small business (Google says under 10 million dollars a year, and not a franchise)

Common mistakes

  • Saying Yes to everything. Wrong info leads to bad reviews from people who showed up expecting it.

  • Guessing on accessibility. Measure first.

  • Forgetting payment types. If you take cards or tap-to-pay, say so.

  • Not updating after changes, like adding outdoor seating or dropping cash.
