What do the numbers mean?

Performance metrics explained: views are unique people once a day, searches are words that showed your profile updated monthly, calls are taps on Call, website clicks, directions requests with repeats removed, bookings only through a provider. Reading your report. Diagram: Sac Business Launch.

Google says only metrics that apply to your business show up. Others you may see:

  • Messages: conversations through your chat option, if you have one.

  • Menus, Products, Offers: views or clicks on those parts of your profile.

How to use the report

  1. Write down your numbers once a month. Calls, website clicks, and directions are the ones tied most closely to customers.

  2. Compare month to month, not day to day.

  3. Look at the Searches list. If people find you for a service you do not list, add it to your services.

  4. Check Profile Strength. On a computer, click Profile Strength on your profile for Google's list of missing info, like hours or a description.

  5. Try the Insights tab if you see one. Google says it is not available for all profiles. It offers suggestions based on reviews, photos, and local search trends.

Common mistakes

  • Panicking over one slow week. Look at months.

  • Comparing views to website visits. They are counted differently.

  • Expecting booking numbers from your own link. Only connected providers report bookings.

  • Ignoring the search words. They tell you how real people describe what you do.

Lots of profile views but few website clicks? Your website may be the missing piece. Our Free Website Check can show you why.

Google changes Business Profile screens often. We checked these steps in October 2026. If a button looks different, the Google help pages below have the latest.

Questions people ask

Why is my views number lower than I expected?

Google counts unique people, and each person only once a day, even if they visit on several devices. It also only counts views of your profile, not every place your business shows on Google.

Why don't I see a Bookings number?

Google only tracks bookings made through a connected booking provider. Your own booking link does not report bookings.

Does the report include ad clicks?

Yes. Google says performance data includes views, searches, and actions from both regular search results and Google Ads.

We will look at the site you already have and email what to fix first.
